With Summer Fields, I wanted to capture the bright, luminous quality of open countrysides basking in the full warmth of the season. Working with oil on a 9″x12″ canvas panel, I balanced crisp blocks of teal and deep blue with soft pinks, gentle greens, and radiant strokes of sunny yellow.
The composition relies on a textured grid of heavy impasto marks and delicate vertical lines, evoking the rhythm of sunlight breaking through open air and swaying flora. Every layered surface and chromatic contrast is designed to transport the viewer into a breezy, expansive landscape filled with light and color.
