With African Savanna, I wanted to evoke the expansive, sun-drenched atmosphere and raw openness of vast grassland horizons. Working with oil on a 9″x12″ canvas panel, I built the composition using luminous layers of warm yellows, golden ochres, and earthy olive greens that capture the baked intensity of the landscape under an open sky.
The surface combines smooth, atmospheric washes with thick, impasto textures and subtle vertical drips, suggesting both heat haze and organic growth. Every stroke is designed to invite the viewer into a quiet, meditative space where color and light converge to express the timeless spirit of the natural world.
