With Fractured Identity, I wanted to capture the internal complexity of self-perception, where different fragments of who we are try to hold together despite deep divisions.
The composition is built across a textured, layered background of vibrant pinks, crimson, and pale yellow touches, crossed by erratic sweeps of color. Piercing vertically through the center are two stark, bold blue pillars that divide the space, acting like boundaries or separate facets of a split self trying to find alignment.
Working in oil on paper, the thick impasto creates a heavy, raised texture against the absorbent background. Fractured Identity is about that fragile internal architecture where multiple versions of ourselves coexist in tension.
