With The Playground, I wanted to capture the unstructured joy, bright energy, and unbridled spontaneity of childhood spaces where imagination runs free.
The composition is built from clean, expansive blocks of vibrant green and luminous yellow that anchor the canvas, juxtaposed against a heavily textured vertical structure of rich crimson and deep earth tones on the right. Thick impasto strokes catch the light on the woven fabric, giving the playful color patches a tangible, tactile presence.
