With Emotional Crossroads, I wanted to capture the internal friction of arriving at a decisive turning point, where conflicting feelings meet, merge, and pull us in different directions.
The composition is built from an intense collision of vibrant greens, sunny yellows, and deep navy tones, slashed across by bold, vertical sweeps of rich crimson and rose pink. Thick impasto builds a dense, textured topography on the woven canvas surface, giving the intersecting color paths a heavy, tactile weight.
Working in oil on canvas, the woven fabric grips the thick paint applications, emphasizing the raw, dramatic tension of the piece. Emotional Crossroads is about navigating those pivotal moments where opposing forces meet and a new path must be chosen.
