With this piece, I wanted to capture the lighthearted ease and refreshing tranquility of a sun-drenched, carefree spring day.
The composition is washed in a luminous palette of soft pistachio greens, buttery sunshine yellows, and delicate mint hues that shift seamlessly into cool sage undertones. Thick, impasto brushstrokes and smooth squeegee drags sweep across the paper, creating a gentle, atmospheric rhythm of scraped textures and soft undertows that pull the viewer straight into the serene expanse.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent texture grounds the heavy paint layers while allowing the rough, energetic tool marks to stand out with raw intensity. Fine and Dandy is about that breezy, unburdened moment when everything feels effortlessly light and completely at peace.
