Through this painting, I sought to capture a chilling, atmospheric disquiet, utilizing sweeping dry-brush strokes, dark linear gestural marks, and a muted, shadowy color palette.
Created as an original oil on paper painting measuring 9×12 inches, the piece features a misty, atmospheric field of dusky purple and charcoal grey, slashed by sharp white horizontal raking strokes and dark, skeletal vertical tendrils capped in crimson. I applied layered impasto brushwork, gestural linework, and scraped textures across the paper to give the oil medium a raw, ghostly depth that speaks to supernatural lore and persistent haunting.
