With Easter Sunday, I wanted to capture the quiet, luminous awakening of a spring morning, filled with soft light and a sense of renewal.
The composition is built from gentle, pastel blocks of buttery yellow, soft pink, and rich lavender that layer across one another like morning mist lifting off the ground. Thick impasto strokes create a comforting, tactile depth, anchoring the delicate color palette with a solid, grounded presence.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent background allows the creamy texture of the paint to hold onto the light. Easter Sunday is about that serene feeling of a fresh start, where everything feels lighter, brighter, and renewed.
