The Color Parade is a celebration of movement, energy, and the simple joy of letting color take center stage. I created this 9″ × 12″ original painting entirely with a palette knife, allowing every stroke to remain bold, textured, and spontaneous. Rather than blending the paint into submission, I wanted each color to stand confidently on its own while interacting with the others in unexpected ways.
As I worked across the surface, vibrant reds, greens, yellows, blues, purples, and soft pinks began to gather like participants in a lively procession—each bringing its own personality while contributing to a harmonious whole. The ridges, scrapes, and layered applications left behind by the palette knife create a tactile landscape that changes with the light, revealing new details from every angle.
For me, The Color Parade is about optimism, freedom, and embracing life’s beautiful unpredictability. I hope it invites the viewer to slow down, explore its textures and relationships, and discover their own story within its colorful journey. Every viewing offers something new, making the painting as dynamic and expressive as the creative process that brought it to life.
The artwork is signed, titled, and dated on the reverse. It will also be permanently archived as part of the artist’s catalog of works.
