With Through Invisible Walls, I wanted to explore the unseen barriers that compartmentalize our spaces and thoughts, and the subtle ways we manage to break through them.
The composition is built from structured, geometric blocks of rich purple, slate gray, and bright yellow, partitioned by sharp lines and dark outlines. A vibrant vertical stroke of brilliant blue cuts upward from the lower edge, offering a sense of passage through the heavy color planes.
Working in oil on canvas, the woven fabric grips the thick impasto texture, giving the individual blocks a tangible, physical presence. Through Invisible Walls is about navigating structure, division, and the hidden passages that connect one space to another.
