In this 8.5″x11″ abstract oil painting, titled ‘Abduction at Area 51,’ I sought to capture the moment of an otherworldly encounter—not as a clear narrative, but as a visceral, sensory event. The composition is dominated by a vast, unsettling field of toxic, radioactive lime green, representing the atmospheric distortion or perhaps a powerful tractor beam.
On the right side of the canvas, a foreign form intrudes. This dark, earthy brown mass is dense and textured, suggesting the hull of a massive, silent unidentified craft. The sharp, vertical lime green lines cutting through this dark form act as energy conduits or scanning beams, pulling material from the environment.
Beneath the craft, the green field appears to be violently disturbed, dissolving into chaotic swirls of deep magenta and yellow, hinting at the molecular displacement occurring at the point of contact. The texture throughout is heavy and deliberate, emphasizing the raw power and alien materiality of the event.
