With The Lipstick Symphony, I wanted to capture a harmonious collision of cosmetic hues and musical rhythm, exploring how playful, high-chroma tones can orchestrate a vibrant visual movement.
The composition is built from sweeping, diagonal brushstrokes of deep royal blue, vibrant magenta, and soft rose pink, offset by bright fields of sunny yellow. Bold, heavy impasto drips hang dramatically from the upper edge, introducing a sculptural, melodic punctuation to the energetic surface.
Working in oil on board, the rigid support allows for forceful scraping and layered paint applications, giving the vibrant color passages a heavy, tangible weight. The Lipstick Symphony is about color harmonies, expressive momentum, and the joyful dissonance of a visual orchestra.
