With Summer Grass, I wanted to capture the lush vitality and sunlit movement of verdant meadows at the height of the season. Working with oil on a 9″x12″ canvas panel, I layered rich shades of emerald, forest green, and soft sage, contrasted by vibrant blocks and streaks of warm summer yellow.
The composition blends smooth, atmospheric color fields with heavy impasto textures and vertical scraping, evoking blades of grass swaying in a warm breeze under intense light. Every mark on the surface is an exploration of organic growth and natural rhythm, inviting the viewer to feel immersed in the vibrant energy of the outdoors.
