With The Roswell Incident, I wanted to channel the mysterious atmosphere of mid-century lore, secrecy, and unexplained encounters, translating fragmented memories and hidden horizons into a dynamic field of color.
The composition is anchored by deep indigo and cerulean blue sweeps, contrasting sharply against passages of vibrant pink, crimson, and pale turquoise. Thick impasto builds a tactile, textured topography across the woven canvas, giving the structured shapes and glowing frames a heavy, physical weight.
Working in oil on canvas, the woven fabric grips the thick paint application, emphasizing the raw, evocative energy of the piece. The Roswell Incident is about curiosity, unknown frontiers, and the enduring fascination with what lies hidden just beyond our view.
