With this piece, I wanted to capture the enchanting, fairytale-like wonder and fantastical energy of a mythical realm brought to life.
The composition is framed by towering archways of rich royal purple and soft blush pink above, descending into a shimmering central structure of icy whites and pale blues, anchored by a lush, magical expanse of deep greens and oceanic tones below. Thick, impasto brushstrokes and vertical squeegee scrapes carve through the canvas, creating a whimsical, fairytale rhythm of draped structures and shimmering textures that draw the viewer straight into the enchanted gates.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent texture grounds the heavy paint layers while allowing the rough, energetic tool marks to stand out with raw intensity. Magic Kingdom is about that spark of pure imagination where legendary spires and wondrous landscapes exist just beyond the veil.
