With this piece, I wanted to capture the abrupt, jarring sensation of a sudden systemic error—that unsettling instant when a clean process fractures into static and signal disruption.
The composition emerges from a deep, pitch-black void, fractured by static clusters of electric cyan blue, icy white, and sudden, warning-red flashes along the edges. Heavy, impasto paint layers and coarse horizontal squeegee scrapes gouge across the canvas, creating a glitching, fragmented rhythm of disturbed textures and cell-like paint breaks that draw the viewer straight into the visual malfunction.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent texture grounds the heavy paint layers while allowing the rough, energetic tool marks to stand out with raw intensity. Something Went Wrong is about embracing the chaos of the unexpected error—where a breakdown becomes a compelling landscape of its own.
