With May the Brush Be With You, a 9×12 inch oil on paper painting, I wanted to explore the epic, cinematic clash between ethereal cosmic energy and dark, monolithic structure. Through this painting, I sought to capture a sense of galactic adventure and spirited momentum, utilizing sweeping palette knife layers, rich impasto texturing, and dripping vertical accents.
Created as an original oil on paper painting measuring 9×12 inches, the piece features a dynamic expanse of silvery-lavender and ethereal violet light meeting a brooding, dark charcoal monolith slashed with vertical drips of pale purple. I applied heavy impasto brushwork and aggressive scraping techniques to give the oil medium a raw, cinematic quality that evokes both deep-space mystique and lighthearted homage.
