With The Good Old Days, a 9×12 inch oil on paper painting, I wanted to explore the hazy, nostalgic filter of memory and the warm, quiet resonance of past moments. Through this painting, I sought to capture a gentle sense of longing and serene reflection, utilizing soft sweeping brushwork, expressive gestural linework, and a muted, atmospheric palette.
Created as an original oil on paper painting measuring 9×12 inches, the piece features a soft background of pale grey, butter yellow, and dusky lavender, overlaid with vertical, fence-like strokes of teal-green and sweeping arcs of sun-warmed yellow. I applied fluid, layered brushstrokes and expressive line marks across the paper to give the oil medium a dreamlike, memory-soaked quality that speaks to time passed and cherished moments.
