With this piece, I wanted to capture the chaotic, primal energy of organic life taking root and multiplying in hidden depths.
The composition is an intricate web of deep cobalt blues, bruised purples, and fiery flashes of magenta, woven together with dark, curving gestural lines that twist through the canvas. Thick, impasto brushstrokes and stippled textures create a sprawling, primordial rhythm of organism-like structures and murky depths that pull the viewer straight into the fertile chaos.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent texture grounds the heavy paint layers while allowing the rough, energetic tool marks to stand out with raw intensity. Breeding Grounds is about that mysterious, unstoppable surge of creation emerging from darkness and raw element.
