With Candy Motion, I wanted to capture the sweet, playful rush of kinetic energy, blending vibrant confectionery hues with sharp, dynamic movement.
The composition is divided across fields of rich raspberry pink and bright turquoise blue, creating a lively contrast. Piercing vertically through the lower half are crisp white and bright yellow streaks that slice upward like ribbons or light refractions, adding a rhythmic, energetic pulse to the surface.
Working in oil on canvas, the woven fabric grips the thick impasto texture, giving the playful colors a tangible, physical presence. Candy Motion is about sweetness, speed, and the joyful momentum of color in motion.
