With this piece, I wanted to capture the seductive, confidential intensity of a secret shared only in the shadows.
The composition is shrouded in a deep, brooding atmosphere of midnight blue and rich plum, sliced open across the center by brilliant, horizontal slashes of intense scarlet and crimson red. Thick, impasto brushstrokes and sharp, sweeping tool scrapes drag across the surface, creating a covert, magnetic rhythm of veiled layers and peek-through textures that draw the viewer straight into the heart of the canvas.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent texture grounds the heavy paint layers while allowing the rough, energetic tool marks to stand out with raw intensity. For Your Eyes Only is about that thrill of classified intimacy, holding a private gaze that remains strictly off the record.
