With Heavenly Ascent, I wanted to capture the feeling of rising toward the light, translating spiritual elevation and ethereal movement into a tactile landscape of color.
The composition moves upward from grounded fields of deep purple and warm ivory into swirling, atmospheric zones of bright cerulean blue and textured white peaks. Striking vertical brushstrokes slice upward through the center like beams of light, guiding the eye toward an expansive upper horizon.
Working in oil on canvas, the woven fabric grips the thick impasto and heavy layers, giving the soaring elements a tangible, physical weight. Heavenly Ascent is about transcendence, momentum, and the luminous journey upward into peace.
