High-Gloss Palette is an abstract oil painting that draws direct inspiration from the vibrant, sensory-rich world of cosmetic artistry and high-fashion beauty. In this piece, I wanted to explore the textures and colors found on a professional makeup artist’s station—where bold pigments, rich creams, and glossy finishes intersect.
The surface features thick, decisive impasto strokes of hot pink, rich purple, and sunny yellow, layered dynamically over softer neutral undertones. The sweeping arcs of pink and violet mimic the fluid application of lip lacquer or vibrant eyeshadow sweeps, while the textured impasto ridges capture the physical weight of cosmetic creams and glosses.
