With “Limoncello”, I wanted to capture the effervescent, sun-drenched warmth of a summer afternoon distilled into pure color and texture. Measuring 8″x10″, this abstract oil painting plays with rich, tactile layers of luminous citrus yellows and deep, grounding greens that evoke the lush vitality of sunlit foliage and citrus groves.
I built the surface using heavy impasto strokes and dynamic scraping techniques, allowing the thick oil pigments to create a tangible sense of depth and movement across the canvas. The vibrant yellow block at the top radiates light, while the contrasting lower tiers of emerald and chartreuse anchor the composition with an organic, earthy energy. It is an exploration of brightness, refreshment, and the sensory memory of warmth preserved in oil.
