In Rocket Science, an oil on paper abstract painting, I wanted to capture the complex intersection of calculated precision and untamed, explosive momentum. Working directly with oil pigments on paper allowed me to build rich, tactile layers that create a sense of deep structural mechanics and atmospheric expanse.
The left side of the composition is dominated by a vibrant field of electric blue and teal, punctuated by stacked blocks of soft pink and crimson marks that evoke data signatures or distant signals. Cutting diagonally across the center is a powerful wedge of deep black and dark tones, serving as a heavy structural armature. Emerging from this dark framework are bold, sweeping forms of rich magenta, deep violet, and warm peach, accented by light gray and cream blocks toward the lower right. Through this dramatic clash of saturated cool tones and warm, high-velocity shapes, I wanted to evoke a sense of complex propulsion—a visual investigation into the intricate mechanics of force, trajectory, and innovation.
