With Pipe Dream, I wanted to explore the tension between structure and spontaneity. The bold, sweeping lines move across the surface like fragments of a system—intersecting, bending, and changing direction—while refusing to settle into anything predictable. They hint at familiar forms without ever becoming literal, inviting the viewer to complete the story in their own imagination.
The vibrant yellow field fills the painting with warmth and optimism, creating an energetic backdrop for the contrasting blues, reds, pinks, and white. I intentionally balanced confident, deliberate brushstrokes with raw, expressive marks so that each gesture retains the physical presence of the hand that created it. The result is a composition that feels both playful and purposeful, where movement and stillness exist together.
To me, Pipe Dream is about possibility. It reflects the ideas we build, the paths we imagine, and the unexpected directions life often takes. Some connections are clear, while others remain just out of reach, reminding us that not every journey follows a straight line—and that the beauty often lies in the spaces between certainty and imagination.
