With Femme Fatale, I wanted to explore tension, allure, and hidden strength, translating a sense of captivating danger into a sharp interplay of dark tones and vibrant color.
The composition is anchored by deep, moody blacks and charcoal fields that frame striking blocks of soft pink, luminous yellow, and a bold flash of crimson at the base. Three vertical strokes of pink drip downward from the upper edge like quiet undercurrents, while stark black forms rise defensively from below.
Working in oil on canvas, the woven fabric grips the heavy impasto and textured application, giving the opposing elements a tangible, physical weight. Femme Fatale is about magnetism, contrast, and the compelling power of mystery.
