With this piece, I wanted to capture the uncertain, unpredictable outcome of taking a gamble—that fine print disclaimer where anticipation meets the volatile reality of chance.
The composition is submerged in a rich, velvety gradient of deep burgundy, plum, and magenta tones, intersected on the right by boxy, screen-like framing elements in blush pink, white, and subtle canary yellow accents. Heavy, horizontal squeegee drags and thick impasto scrapes carve through the dense paint layers, creating a shifting, fragmented rhythm of scraped windows and blurred color bands that pull the viewer straight into the unpredictable surface.
Working in oil on paper, the absorbent texture grounds the heavy paint layers while allowing the rough, energetic tool marks to stand out with raw intensity. Results May Vary is about embracing the gamble—knowing that no two outcomes are ever entirely guaranteed.
